Tax Exemption Program

The RM offers two tax exemption programs that residents, businesses, and future property owners can use. These include:

  • a program for commercial, industrial, multi-unit, and multi-parcel development, and
  • a program for infill residential development

To participate in either tax exemption program, you must apply for exemption before obtaining a Building Permit. To learn more about Building Permits, click here.

Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Unit, and Multi-Parcel Tax Exemption

To encourage commercial and industrial construction and provide support for applicants building multi-unit or multi-parcel developments, the RM has implemented a Tax Exemption Program.

This program reduces municipal taxes by 100% for 3 years (or 5 years for multi-parcel developments), with the first year of the exemption beginning after final inspection.

Note: The RM is only able to exempt municipal taxes. This program has no effect on reducing your education tax levy.

To begin the tax exemption process, please submit the Tax Exemption Application Form to the RM Office by dropping it off in-person, mailing it to 100 Hutchence Road, Emerald Park, SK, S4L 1C6, or by emailing it to susan.stevenson@edenwold-sk.ca
