Parks & Recreation

The RM of Edenwold offers residents and visitors several recreation and leisure opportunities in and around the area. Centered around Emerald Park, residents and visitors can take advantage of the RM's:

  • Playgrounds in Woods Park, Palmer Park, and Fairway Park
  • Tennis and Pickleball Courts near the intersection of South Plains Road and Emerald Park Road
  • Kuzmicz Commemorative Park, including a soccer field and soccer facility with washrooms, communal barbecues, picnic tables, a playground, beach volleyball court, and a 10-station fitness circuit
  • Emerald Park Dogsville Off-Leash Dog Park near the RM office at 100 Hutchence Road
  • Interconnected and solar-light-lit multi-use pathways, usable by anyone who walks, cycles, or rolls
  • Several Little Libraries

North of Emerald Park, and between Hwy. 1 and Hwy. 46 is the White Butte Trails Recreation Site. Managed by the provincial government, White Butte Trails provides excellent opportunities for walking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

To guide the development and management of municipal parks and recreation assets, in November 2022, the RM adopted the Parks & Recreation Plan. This long-term plan will guide future investment in recreation and ensure that the RM works to be a complete community with a variety of recreational opportunities. The RM also provides funding to nearby communities to support their recreation projects. By working with our neighbours, the RM can ensure residents have access to various recreation opportunities.
